Assets shared between stations / groups in 2014
Oasis is a cloud based archive & share solution designed around an innovative private and public cloud model that is flexible enough to fit every network architecture. Searching and retrieval is easy using video and metadata (scripts, slugs, notes etc).
When you buy Oasis for automatic archiving and station sharing you also get a sophisticated Asset Management system that can grow with your station needs. Utilizing either private or public networks, Oasis integrates with existing news production systems and empowers everyone, everywhere, to access, share and move stories over existing bandwidth without traditional time-consuming and expensive linear feeds.
Thanks to our partnerships with CNN Newsource and other affiliate news services, story discovery and acquisition is simplified by using a single interface to find local, group-wide and network stories.
Field Centric Workflows
Remote Contribution breaks down the walls of the newsroom allowing teams to work from the field, enabling efficiency in media content management for today’s workflows and tomorrow’s platforms.
With Remote Contribution and Remote Pull, a laptop and an NLE, crews can stay in the field contributing to the station and requesting video from the station via the Internet.
The video is transferred between journalist and station using the same secure technology that over 140 television stations on the Oasis sharing network use to share between stations. A simple software plug-in to the core Oasis engine, Oasis Remote Contribution, delivers compressed video files via a secure UDP transmission to the Oasis server inside the television station. With a proxy editor inside the Oasis GUI, users can mark in and out points and send only the desired portion of the clip, saving time and money. Our customers see 2-3x faster transfer speeds than FTP.
Access to Remote Contribution or Remote Pull is via an Oasis server, which is either provided as part of an Oasis purchase, or delivered with a Precis 4 upgrade. Stations without Precis or Oasis can purchase an Oasis system that integrates with common news production systems, iNews, ENPS and Dalet.
