JOB TITLE: Implementation Project Manager

Looking for a non-traditional broadcast career? Bitcentral is the leading provider of newsroom production systems in the country. Either you or one of your colleagues have likely worked with our broadcast production tools.

We are looking to fill the position of Implementation Project Manager. This is a remote position with elements of field engineering and newsroom workflow training. We are looking to expand our team of media professionals who have deep knowledge of what makes a newsroom and broadcast facilities tick. Our current IPM team is built from former newsroom workers and engineers that can communicate with our users in terms they understand.

The Implementation Project Manager (IPM) for many of our customers, is the “Face” of Bitcentral due to the direct contact and onsite nature of the position. The IPM is responsible for the installation, integration, and end-user training on Bitcentral platforms both at customer sites and remotely. The IPM must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with their team and the customer during all phases of a project.

  • Coordinate and oversee the installation of a mixture of physical production systems, software, and Cloud-based streaming platforms for Bitcentral customers
  • Provide onsite field engineering and remote support to both new and existing installations. Onsite customer project visits total approximately 3 weeks each month
  • Verify that production equipment and software is properly installed and configured to integrate with the customer’s existing infrastructure
  • Help troubleshoot problems to determine the nature of suspected equipment or software issues


  • Coordination of projects, timelines, and schedules with customer representatives regarding project status and training needs
  • Training of customer personnel in the use of Bitcentral systems and software
  • Help in the development of product documentation and “how-to” product use collateral for our online Help Bitcentral portal
  • Keep abreast on developing trends of the industry to aid in the design and integration of the future systems of Bitcentral
  • Team-oriented and highly motivated
  • Ability to thrive in both small, dynamic environments and group training sessions depending on customer needs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with both customers and managers
  • Familiarity with Windows OS Servers and desktop clients, Microsoft Office 365 applications, various online tools, and cloud-based services
  • Technology and workflow experience in broadcast news environments is essential, and knowledge of network-based streaming environments and master control workflows is beneficial
  • Knowledge of modern Non-Linear Editing Suites (Ability to teach Adobe Premiere or Edius for a newsroom setting is highly desired)
  • The ability to conduct basic troubleshooting techniques and the logging of steps taken, following documentation, and completing checklists
  • Knowledge of server networks, IP, virtualization, Newsroom Computer Systems (ENPS, iNews, and Inception), etc.
  • Proficiency in English is required
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus but not a requirement


  • Minimum of at least one of the following:
    – Associate degree in Communications
    – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant scientific discipline
    – 5 years of experience in a television station or equivalent video production facility


  • This position will be in both office and broadcast facility environments
  • Telecommuting will also be required for some projects
  • Travel is essential as is the ability and willingness to travel for 3 weeks each month
  • Travel is primarily in the continental United States, but the ability to obtain a passport for potential international projects is desired
