Earlier this year we heard from our dear friends at Ryerson University expressing an interest in nominating their implementation of our Precis news production system for the 2015 Campus Technology Innovation Awards. The university specifically nominated their deployment of a mobile learning project within their school of Journalism… We were honored to say the least.
Bitcentral’s Precis system served as the foundation for the school’s mobile learning initiative that is able to scale to meet their growth and complexity by providing on-air playout functionalities, video ingest of live and file-based sources, newsroom computer system and non-linear editor integration as well as high speed edit storage. “By embracing a ‘best of breed’ ideology, the Bitcentral solution allowed Ryerson to utilize a variety of tools and applications that were important to our faculty and students,” said Dr. Michel Kouadio, Director of Technology Planning and Innovation at Ryerson University. Ryerson University is Canada’s leader in innovative and career-focused education, and has been recently in the news for other great achievements in film and their general positive attitude towards motivating young people to lead, be innovative and build the experience for strong careers.
In the end, Ryerson University received a commendable honorable mention for their project and we are so proud to be a part of their recently transformed School of Journalism’s technology infrastructure that is preparing students for today’s mobile connectivity workflows.
Bitcentral is proud that their partnership with Ryerson University has contributed to the university’s success with this award and looks forward to building a lasting relationship with the Ryerson University community.
