President and board member Camille Jayne to retire June 30

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 2, 2020 — Bitcentral Inc., a well-known provider of efficient media workflows in the U.S. and Latin America, has selected Gregory Mason to be its new president, effective May 27, with the aim of continuing the company’s significant growth and product innovation in the years ahead. Mason, who will also be joining Bitcentral’s board of directors, has a longtime strategic and results-driven track record in a breadth of digital arenas including media, marketplaces, and SaaS, and assumes the president role as Camille Jayne, Bitcentral’s president since March 2017, retires on June 30 after an illustrious 38-year business career.

Mason joins Bitcentral with two decades of experience in executive leadership roles, including most recently as President/Founder of GAM Consulting. Prior to that, Mason was CEO and Director at Purch, Inc., a leading digital publishing and marketplace platform uniquely positioned at the intersection of content, commerce, and services. Under his leadership the company grew revenue from $25 million to over $125 million, followed by a successful exit to Future plc.

Mason was selected to fill the Bitcentral role of president following an extensive five-month search process. Jayne, part of the search committee, will stay on for a short transition through June 30 before retiring, after more than 19 years with Bitcentral as board director and the last three and a half years as president. Bitcentral Founder and CEO Fred Fourcher states: “Greg Mason will be a great leader, partner and complement to me and our management team, and I know he will fit extremely well within the culture and values of our company. The board and I agree that his experience in all aspects of the digital video ecosystem, coupled with his management and M&A experience, are just what we need to catapult Bitcentral and FUEL™ — our digital streaming platform — to even greater success.”

Mason brings a variety of leadership, general management, and sales experiences to the role, including his success applying sound strategic vision and technology innovation to take advantage of marketplace business opportunities for the right product and market fit. His career is marked by dedication to developing management and direct sales teams for increased top and bottom-line results. Prior to Purch, Mason oversaw WebMD as Executive Vice President and spent more than 10 years in an array of divisional General Manager/SVP roles at CBS Interactive and CNET Networks (acquired by CBS Corporation). This period culminated in Mason’s leadership of CBSi’s largest and most profitable unit and brand portfolio which included CNET, ZDNET, TechRepublic, CBSNews.com, BNET, CBSMoneywatch, and CNET Content Solutions. He started his career in Technology Publishing with Ziff-Davis and International Data Group (IDG).

Mason received an MBA from the University of San Francisco, and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Nevada. He is a board director for HealthiNation and has conducted digital transformation advisory work for companies & investors spanning Insurtech, SportsTech, E: Commerce, and Marketplaces.

Mason states: “I am delighted to join Fred and the Bitcentral Team. I was attracted to Bitcentral by the company’s reputation for product quality, technology innovation, and their loyal & large customer base. I was further compelled by their vision for the future of digital video and their value proposition to help broadcasters grow digital revenue streams.”

Jayne, the departing Bitcentral president, was brought into the role in early 2017 to assemble the management team after serving as a turn-around CEO for five companies over 22 years. Jayne worked closely with the team to restructure the two core divisions of Bitcentral for aggressive growth, while overseeing the development and launch of Fourcher’s vision for FUEL. In 2019, the company doubled its year-over-year revenue and increased EBITDA by 1200 percent.

I am delighted we have found Greg, and I’m excited to pass the baton of the president’s role into his capable hands and leadership. I do this with great confidence that he will help lead Bitcentral to what is sure to be increased and sustained success. I want to thank Fred, the entire board, and the incredible Bitcentral employees for the opportunity to work alongside them, delivering immeasurable value to our customers. Now that I am entering retirement, I look forward to serving on boards, business lecturing, and hopefully a lot of time on the golf course,” Jayne said.

With Jayne’s retirement, Fourcher reflected: “I am incredibly appreciative to Camille for her dedication to Bitcentral over the past 19 years as an active board director and ultimately president. We appreciate her willingness to serve as president in a time when we most needed her strategic talents, operational savvy and management skills to coach and mentor our team to the increased success we have had for the past three and a half years. We all are grateful to her and wish her the very best.”
