IRVINE, CALIF. – MAR. 11, 2009 – Bitcentral, Inc., a leading provider of news production, archiving and distribution solutions to television stations, announced today that Alex Keighley has joined the company as the General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Keighley has nearly 20 years of management and sales experience with media owners and news agencies in Europe. He will report to Bitcentral’s Vice President of Sales, Charlie Grisham, and his duties include leading the international business development effort for Oasis, Bitcentral’s file sharing and video archiving system. Keighley will also be responsible for growing the company’s presence on a global level.

Keighley graduated with honors from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. During the span of his 20-year career, he has held senior management roles at the Associated Press, including Regional EMEA Director, and Director of EMEA Sales, where he successfully shifted AP’s commercial efforts away from traditional print media towards digital and video. He also launched AP Headline, a newswire designed for the 24-hour needs of digital and broadcast newsrooms, in addition to an Arabic language service. Keighley’s media sales history also includes leadership roles at Reuters, and various European newspapers, including the Times and London’s Evening Standard.
