Enhanced Workflow Helps Reporters and Video Journalists Save Time and Be More Productive by Automatically Wirelessly Transferring Files Over IP from the Field to the Station
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – April 6, 2015 – TVU Networks, the global technology leader in live mobile IP newsgathering solutions and Bitcentral, the leading provider of open news production, management and publishing solutions, today announced the release of a joint solution that integrates Bitcentral’s Oasis content management, archiving and collaboration platform with TVU’s TVUPack mobile IP video transmission solutions.
With this integration, field reporters and crews can leverage TVUPack’s multiple IP data connections and wireless HotSpot functionality to automatically upload files from the field to the broadcast production facility where it is automatically ingested into the Bitcentral Oasis asset management system. By utilizing multiple data connections simultaneously, field crews will be able ingest raw video content, edited stories and other large files quickly and efficiently into the Bitcentral production workflow directly. The transferred file is immediately accessible to news directors, producers or other station personnel. A number of large broadcasters, including Hearst Television, will implement the solution to streamline their asset management process.
“This joint solution from TVU and Bitcentral gives Hearst stations around the country tremendous flexibility in terms of being able to quickly ingest files into our workflow from the field. As newsgathering becomes more mobile, TVU and Bitcentral are allowing our reporters to do more from the field while maintaining the same workflow that they would use at the studio,” said Joe Addalia, Director of Technology, Hearst Television.
“Our mission at Bitcentral is to provide streamlined end-to-end news production and asset management solutions, and we are proud to partner with TVU Networks to deliver innovative, collaborative solutions that will give our customers more flexibility to use our tools from any location. We welcome the opportunity to work closely with TVU in a combined effort to provide more robust, flexible solutions to our customers,” said Mike Petersen, VP of Product Management, Bitcentral.
“TVU is committed to giving broadcasters the ability to leverage the power of IP to expand their production processes beyond the walls of the studio. We are excited to partner with Bitcentral to deliver this robust integration to our customers to help them streamline their workflow while expanding their newsgathering operations from the field,” said, Paul Shen, CEO, TVU Networks.
This joint solution will be on display at NAB 2015 in TVU Networks booth #SU3605 and Bitcentral booth #SU4410.
The Bitcentral Oasis solution delivers a sophisticated asset management and archive platform that enables broadcast stations to automatically archive stories, media and metadata with built in sharing and collaboration tools for seamless access for broadcasters from any location.
