Installation of FUEL kicks off three-year agreement for Circle City Broadcasting-owned stations

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 2020 — Bitcentral Inc., a well-known provider of efficient media workflows in the U.S. and Latin America, today announced a three-year agreement to implement FUEL at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, DMA market 25 in the U.S. The installation of FUEL, Bitcentral’s highly efficient production, cloud streaming and video monetization solution, took place this week and has already benefited WISH-TV’s operations and audience.

WISH-TV is a CW affiliate acquired by Circle City Broadcasting, LLC, from Nexstar in 2019 as part of a $42.5 million transaction. Led by Indianapolis native and 30-year broadcast veteran DuJuan McCoy, Circle City Broadcasting operates WISH-TV and WNDY-TV and they sought a solution that could be quickly implemented and utilizes the latest technology available to monetize broadcast content.

The media landscape is constantly changing, and as we transitioned WISH-TV from its previous ownership, it was critical for us to find a cutting-edge video platform capable of delivering an amazing experience to our viewers – one that would keep them tuned in and engaged to our streaming broadcasts,” McCoy said. “FUEL was the clear choice because it allows us to achieve all our goals from a viewership perspective while tapping into potential new revenue. We look forward to transforming the WISH-TV experience through FUEL and the guidance of the Bitcentral team.”

Launched in August 2018, FUEL assists streaming providers, broadcasters and rights holders with providing digital viewers an exceptional viewing experience while maximizing advertising revenue.

WISH-TV has been serving the people of Central Indiana for 65 years, producing and airing over 75 hours of local news and programming per week. They needed to stand above its competitors and provide its viewers with a meaningful experience while finding new ways to monetize, which is made possible through FUEL,” said Fred Fourcher, Bitcentral founder and CEO.

As FUEL is incorporated into WISH-TV’s operations, Bitcentral is proudly arming the station with the power to unlock new revenue sources and streamline its operations in 2020 and beyond.”

Circle City Broadcasting and WISH-TV mark the latest in a number of new FUEL customers, joining the ranks of multiple other broadcasting groups and stations leveraging FUEL. To learn more about FUEL™, visit the products page at www.bitcentral.com, and follow @bitcentral on Twitter and LinkedIn.
